Oh Lizard

Last Sunday when I pulled the curtains back,
Can you imagine what fell on my head with a great big smack?
Why, a lizard of course,
Which made me scream until my voice became hoarse,
I still remember how it stared up at me with its beady, confused little eyes,
As I prances around, the room echoing with my cries.

Ever since then I have been scared out of my mind,
Staying away from walls, curtains and wherever ever a lizard you would find,
I constantly feel as if something is crawling on the back of my neck,
But there is nothing whenever I check.

Its been a. week of being scared and acting insane,
And of being too scared to look out the window to catch a glimpse of the rain,
Oh how can someone go about their lives like this, living in fear,
Too afraid to take chances and not letting anything near?
If a lizard is meant to fall on you,
Won't it happen no matter what you do?

That is the silly, silly thing about fate,
It will catch up to you, whether its soon or late,
You can run and hide all you want,
But destiny is a ghost that never seizes to haunt.

If they must then let the lizards fall,
But never let that stop you from answering adventures call.
