Treason

You come over and try to apologize,
As if it would bring the light back into my eyes,
You clearly don't know what you've done,
For you it was all just for fun,
But for me every second was real,
I can't even begin to erase all that I used to feel,
Best friends forever we had said,
Who knew our promise would end up for dead?
I've learned a lot in the last four years,
So I know you're not worth these tears,
People come and go,
Some stay and others leave you with a lesson to grow,
But there's a reason,
For all that you did whether right or wrong,
And I'd be foolish to blame you for treason,
When it wouldn't bother you for even a second long.
