In Between The Raindrops - Prologue - Spring
Come Spring, Come Goodbye
"Hey!" Anaya smiled as soon as Ali answered his front door. "I know you're mad at me and I guess you have every right to be but let me just try to make it better?"
"What do you want?" Ali sighed, closing the door behind him as he stepped out on his porch.
"I've always loved sitting out here on nights like these." Anaya said as her eyes twinkled up at the sky.
"I know." Ali replied, walking over to sit on the wooden swing.
"I know I hurt you." Anaya began as she sat next to him. "I know I was awful but you're my best friend. Please just let this go? Mom left. Dad has stopped taking his medication and i just. I really need you."
"I can't!" Ali exclaimed, standing up to walk over to the other side of the porch and looking out at the neighborhood.
"Ali.." Anaya pleaded.
"Listen...okay? Just listen." He turned to face her, his hazel green eyes illuminated by the front porch light. "Its always been Aaiz and I've always been second and I just can NOT continue to be second. Even now. You're here trying to apologize to me but all you can speak about is your mom or dad for which I'm really sorry but you're incredibly selfish and I can't tolerate that anymore."
"Ali...Its over with Aaiz." "Anaya cried.
"That's just it!" You ended your friendship with ME because HE told you to...And you just might do it again."
"Ali!" Anaya walked towards him and grabbed his hand.
"No...I can't do this anymore. I don't trust you." He replied, pulling back.
"Trust me. It will never happen again." Anaya sobbed.
"Yeah! I won't because I won't let it. Its over Anaya. Now leave." He ordered her and turned around to open his front door.
"Ali please don't." Anaya begged.
"Go to hell!". Ali spat, turning his back against her.
"You DONT need to insult me!" Anaya retorted as a rush of anger came over her.
"Yeah you're right. I don't because you insult yourself just fine on your own. NOW GO. TO. HELL." Ali screamed.
"You're pathetic." Anaya chocked.
"And you are a two faced witch!" Ali screamed louder this time.
"GO KILL YOURSELF!" Anaya cried so loud that she could feel her throat aching.
"What's going on here?" Ali's mother walked towards the door, looking at Anaya.
"Nothing, Ma. Come on." Ali sighed, leading his mother inside and closing the door shut behind him.
