How To: Control Your Anger

How To: Control Your Anger

Controlling your anger in the situation:

1. If the source of your anger is coming from direct confrontation with someone then just walk away. Learn to control yourself enough to not say a word to them and walk away in order to give yourself enough time to cool down.

2. Sit down. If youre sitting down then lie down.

3. Count to five. Just close your eyes before you respond to anything and just count.

4. Take a deep breathe.

5. This is what I do, I keep a whole album of funny memes in my phones gallery. So whenever I find myself in a situation where Im either really angry or really depressed, I take out my phone and start looking at those pictures. No matter how many times I have seen them before, the jokes still make me laugh. Once you laugh, its easier to calm down.

7. Do not react, do not let your anger come out in the situation.

8. Get Exercise

Learning how to control your anger:

9. Figure out what makes you angry. Do things like keep a record, a list, basically anything which can help you identify what makes you angry. If you know the reason then you can work on those things and work on your anger.

10. Take out your anger on objects. If you MUST take it out, if you do not want to talk about it then rip papers to shreds or pop bubble wrap.

11. Tell someone about what makes you angry, let it out. DO NOT BOTTLE IT INSIDE OF YOU.

12. Be rational. Its hard to be rational in situations where you are really angry but do not say anything when you are angry, you have control over that. Just walk away and rationalize over it later.

13. Imagine up a "Happy Place" in your mind. As hard or childish as it may seem, think of a place or a memory that brings you utter happiness and just imagine that. Think of a good time and you will begin to feel calm.

14. Consider your surroundings. If you feel like exploding out of anger, consider the situation and people around you. You must understand, the anger might be temporary but the impact can last for a lifetime.

15. Im repeating this because its the best way to control your anger, learn to walk away and once you do, make yourself laugh or at least smile so you can calm down easily.
