Pain and all its intensity
Pain and all its intensity.
Have you ever been through something and had someone tell you that your pain wasn't as important or immense as that of someone else? Have you ever felt down, depressed and begging for some comfort but have someone tell you that you had no right to feel so down because there are people out there in worse conditions than you? Have you ever had someone compare your pain to that of someone elses?
The only time I have been to a gym was when I was dragged against my will and all I did was spin around in circles screaming "Wee" on this tiny, plate thing but if you, a normal person goes to a gym and evaluates the environment you will find people of vast individual differences. You will see that if one person can lift up something whichs name I dont even know, you will see that another person will not be able to have the strength to pick the same thing up. Individual differences.
If you look around in your classroom, you will see that one student can retain more information than another. Individual differences.
In your work place, you will find that one person spends twenty minutes typing something that another person would only require ten minutes to type. Individual differences.
If you witness a friendly match of basketball, you will see that one person can throw the ball in the hoop right off the bat but another wouldnt be able to no matter how hard he tried. Individual differences.
We see individual differences in so many aspects of our lives then why not consider it when it comes to pain?
Every single person has a quality which differentiates that person from another. Every single person has a different level of tolerance for pain as compared to other people. So if you see someone going through something and feeling emotional pain, you can not compare that persons pain to that of another because that comparison would be inefficient and wrong. You can not measure emotional pain. If a person is pain but their situation is not worse than anthers in your eyes then you have to consider that the other person may have a higher tolerance for pain.
When it comes to different individuals, they handle pain in different ways. Some people are mentally stronger than others. You can not measure emotional pain and hence, you can not compare the pain of one person with that of another.
