The Poets

You don't ask poets the reason behind their tears,
You don't try to figure out their fears,
Because if they knew the reasons themselves they wouldn't write,
And that would mean they'd loose the will to fight,
Though if they know what makes their hearts ache,
You would find it in their words if only time you would take,
There is so much more to them than you will ever know,
You can not imagine what makes their souls glow,
There is so much depth behind what makes them tick,
If only you knew how their hearts were sick,
They write for the same reason we breathe in and out,
They would die if they couldn't allow their words to shout.
