Your sin

In the depths of my sorrow I find,
An image of you circling my mind,
Going back to that innocent day,
When everything had gone our way,
Of troubles to speak of there were none,
As we sat beneath the shade of the sun,
When suddenly the sky filled with patches of gray,
And the leaves began to sway,
Before we knew it a storm rolled around,
And in your eyes there was no sympathy to be found,
I watched you run and I watched you hide,
Leaving me with no one by side,
Three years gone or maybe four,
You still found your way dashing out the door,
And of you the more I think,
My heart begins to sink,
But live in the past I shall not,
For that is the lesson your betrayal has taught,
And no longer will I let people in,
Only so they can repeat your sin.
